Firstly a few
pointers to help you make up your mind & which road you want to take; All our repairs are carried out ''IN HOUSE'' to the highest standard
by Myself & Carl ''SCOOTERBOY'' Harman, i have worked closely
with Carl on and off for the past 15 years, we have restored and modified
many Volkswagens in our time from bugs to buses. (Carl also takes ''LAMBRETTA'' & ''VESPA'' Restoration work on so
please bear this in mind). All welding undertaken, from a small panel replacement to a full restoration. All our welding repairs are seam sealed, then waxoiled if required. We do offer a winter protection service, basically we 'WAXOIL' your bus
/ beetle underside to help prevent the dreaded rust showing its ugly head,
this service is charged @ £175 including VAT and we would require your
vehicle for the day.
We can carry out full or part restoration though to small MOT failure
/ panel replacements, although it is always too hard to give a guaranteed
quote for work, KEITH (me) always offers my best advice and knowledge
of 17 years with working with Volkswagens, our current prices for this
work are charged @ £30 +VAT per hour. The reason for not giving a guaranteed price when quoting for the work
is like this, we can more or less guarantee that the small hole you want
sorting out will more than likely always turn into a much bigger repair
than you first thought (Im sure most quality restoration companies
will agree)! And we must find good quality metal to weld to, but when
you bring your vehicle along we will always show you what is meant by
small repair turning into a larger repair if we can, then at least you
know where you stand. We will also NOT cut corners on repairing vehicles, if you want a job
doing do it the right way, otherwise 6 month's down the line you would
return to us with a angry head through your own bad money saving decision
and believe us it will cost twice as much to rectify the previous repair,
also it jeopardises our name and Im afraid that isnt going
to happen, its easy to get a bad name but it takes years of hard work
to get a good name! We did restore our 1960 23 window samba which was featured in ' VOLKSWORLD
MAGAZINE ' back in December 2002, if you have the book then take a look
at the workmanship which went into that bus, the bus then went on show
at the Volksworld Show down at Sandown park that year, in 2003 the van
was then sold for £26,000 & lets face it a bad restoration cannot
command prices like that! Then 3 years on we went on to build / fully
restore a ''1962 SAMBA'' which is FEATURED in the NOVEMBER
issue of VOLKSWORLD 2005, take a look and make your own mind up on
how we work and what we do. Thats yah lot! If we can help please call or call in, prices for
restoration work cannot be given from photos or phone calls, all vehicles
etc must be seen at our workshop, when we do / if we do come to some agreement
we break down all prices of work to show where your cash will be spent,
any repairs etc you are not happy with will simply be re-done until you
are happy! KEITH TURNER (PROPRIETOR)
